Elisabeth Willers, M.D.

Dr. Willers joined St. Thomas medical group in 2015 after a nine-year tenure as attending physician and assistant professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC and her medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Willers completed her training with a residency in internal medicine and a pulmonary critical care fellowship at Vanderbilt University before accepting a faculty position in 2006.

Dr. Willers enjoys seeing a wide variety of general pulmonary conditions in her outpatient clinic including COPD, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, and bronchiectasis. She is skilled in fiberoptic bronchoscopy, including endobronchial ultrasound and is board-certified in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. In 2023, Dr. Willers dropped her ICU responsibilities to focus on taking care of patients with pulmonary diseases full time. Her main practice is in Nashville, although she looks forward to starting a satellite clinic in Clarksville in 2023.

“The other Dr. Willers” is her husband, Jeff Willers, who is an orthopedic surgeon at Elite Orthopedics. When not taking care of patients, Dr. Willers enjoys spending time traveling with her family of 5, hiking with the dogs, exercising of any type, and listening to live music.
